Forgiveness is a beautiful
word, and whether we realize it or not, the greatest need of our
lives. This need flows from the ultimate consequence of our sin:
eternal separation from God in misery and judgment called Hell.
By demonstrating the greatest love and mercy the world has ever
known, God became the one, true path of forgiveness for sinners.
How? He became Jesus Christ.
FORGIVENESS ONLY THROUGH JESUS:
About two thousand
years ago, God "became human (Jesus) and made His home
among us." 5 He experienced love, joy, pain, and sadness just as
we do; yet, He lived a perfect and sinless life of obedience. This
ultimately led him to willingly, sufficiently, and obediently suffer and
die on a wooden cross rightfully meant for sinners. But why? "For
Christ died for our sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous,
to bring you to God." 6 Three days after He died, Jesus arose
from the grave alive, demonstrating His power over the curse of
sin. Death, itself, had been defeated. For all those who trust in
Jesus alone, He offers full forgiveness of sin and eternal life with Him.
So, how does this change a life?
